Flourish

It may be gray in Seattle today but our hearts are warm with the love of Christ!

Today's encouragement comes from Psalms 92
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree planted in the house of the Lord.
Committing to being part of a church body.. there are reasons beyond "just the thing we do as a good christian family on Sundays". The scriptures is full of encouragement to get in and grow WITH a church body. We are not to be islands unto ourselves. God never intended for us to follow Jesus alone. We need each other. We need accountability, testimony and encouragement. That comes from a church body. I'm not speaking about religion here, but the body of believers in Jesus. I love the blessing that is promised in Psalm 92.. we will FLOURISH! Love that visual word. Don't you want to flourish? I know I do! It goes on to say we "will bear fruit in old age and stay fresh and green". How great is that? This is a promise I am holding on to. It is good to dwell in the house of the Lord!!

"The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.” Psalm 92
